Streak's Free Plan No Longer Includes Pipelines: Your Options (2026)

For years, Streak free was the default way to track deals inside Gmail. As of 2026, the free plan has no pipelines. Here is what it still includes, who it still suits, and the four realistic routes forward.

Streak's Free Plan No Longer Includes Pipelines: Your Options (2026)

For years, "use Streak free" was the default answer when a freelancer or a two-person agency asked how to track deals inside Gmail without paying. That answer is out of date. Streak's pricing page now says it plainly: "The free plan does not include CRM pipelines."

Here is what the free plan gives you today, who it still works for, and the four realistic options if you need a pipeline. Prices were checked on each vendor's pricing page in October 2026.

What Streak's free plan includes now

Streak positions the free plan as Gmail email tools. As of October 2026 it includes:

  • Email and link tracking (open and click notifications)
  • Snippets (saved reply templates)
  • Mail merge, limited to 50 sends a day
  • Streak Share and the thread splitter

What it does not include is the thing most people meant by "Streak": pipelines. No boxes, no stages, no board, no deal list. If you had pipelines on an older free account, check what your account shows now, and export your data before you change anything.

So the cheapest Streak plan with a pipeline is $588 a year for one person and $1,764 for three, on annual billing. Our full Streak pricing breakdown has the totals for every tier.

Who the free plan still works for

If you never used pipelines, nothing has changed for you. The free plan is still a decent email toolkit if you mainly want to know whether someone opened your email, you reuse the same handful of replies, and your mail merge is a note to fewer than 50 people.

It stops fitting the moment you need to answer "where is this deal, and when did I last follow up?" That is a pipeline question, and the free plan no longer answers it.

Your four realistic options

Option 1: Pay for Streak Pro

The path of least resistance. Your data, custom columns and habits stay where they are, your team knows the interface, and Pro is a mature product.

The trade-off is price. At $49 to $59 a seat, Pro is priced like a mid-market CRM. If the pipeline is the only CRM feature you use, that is a lot for a board. If you also rely on 1,500-a-day mail merge and reports, it is easier to justify. Note that automations and Zapier still need Pro+ at $69.

Choose this if switching cost worries you more than the subscription.

Option 2: Stay free and keep the pipeline in Google Sheets

Keep Streak free for tracking and snippets, and move the deal list into a sheet: one row per deal, with columns for stage, value, next step and last contact. It costs nothing and you own the data. Our free Google Sheets CRM template is a ready-made starting point.

The downside: the sheet does not know which Gmail thread a row belongs to, nothing reminds you to follow up, and every update is a separate chore. It works for a solo freelancer with ten open leads. For a team of three it becomes the thing everyone forgets to update. We cover the breaking points in Google Sheets as a CRM.

Choose this if your deal volume is genuinely small and you would rather spend nothing.

Option 3: Move to a cheaper Gmail CRM

This is where most former Streak free users land, because it keeps what they liked (the CRM lives in Gmail) at a lower price.

A few notes so you pick the right one rather than the cheapest one.

Teamopipe is the lowest-priced and the closest to the Streak experience: deals created from Gmail threads, kanban and list pipelines, contacts and organisations, tasks, templates, Zapier and an API on the entry plan. Reporting and email sequences start on Growth ($29). There is no native mobile app, only a mobile web app. See Teamopipe vs Streak.

NetHunt is the deepest of the four, with LinkedIn integration and strong automation, but those features start on its $60 Business plan. See Teamopipe vs NetHunt.

Copper suits teams that live across Google Workspace, not just Gmail. Watch the 2,500-contact cap on Basic if you import a large Streak contact list. See Teamopipe vs Copper.

folk is a lightweight relationship manager with a Gmail extension rather than a CRM inside Gmail. It suits people who manage relationships more than deals.

Option 4: Use HubSpot's free CRM

HubSpot's free CRM is genuinely free and includes pipelines, contacts and email logging through its Gmail extension. For a founder who expects to add marketing tools later, it is a sensible base.

The trade-off is the one that sent you to Streak in the first place: the pipeline lives in HubSpot's web app, in another tab. People who chose Streak because they never wanted to open a separate CRM often stop updating HubSpot within weeks. See Teamopipe vs HubSpot.

Choose this if "free" is non-negotiable and you are happy working in a second tab.

How to move your Streak data

Streak exports each pipeline to a Google Sheet, which you then download as CSV and import into your new CRM. Email threads stay in Gmail; what you lose is the link between a box and its threads. Our step-by-step Streak export guide covers export, cleaning, import and cancelling. If you are leaving Streak entirely, here is how to remove Streak from Gmail.

Which option should you pick?

  • Pipelines are central to your day and you have under ten seats: option 3. You keep the inside-Gmail workflow and cut the bill by half or more.
  • You already pay for Streak Pro and use mail merge heavily: staying is defensible.
  • Five open leads and no appetite for subscriptions: a Google Sheet will do.
  • You expect to grow into marketing automation: HubSpot free, and accept the extra tab.

If you want to try option 3 on your real data, Teamopipe's 14-day trial includes Growth features, needs no card, and leaves your data exportable if you do not continue.

FAQ

Is Streak free?

Streak has a free plan, but as of October 2026 it covers email tools only: email and link tracking, snippets, mail merge up to 50 sends a day, Streak Share and the thread splitter. It does not include CRM pipelines.

Does Streak's free plan include pipelines?

No. Streak's pricing page states that the free plan does not include CRM pipelines. Pipelines start on Pro at $49 per user per month on annual billing, or $59 monthly.

What happens to my pipelines if I drop to Streak free?

Streak's help centre says that when a paid plan is cancelled, pipelines and boxes are not deleted but become view-only on the free plan. Export them first if you plan to move.

What is the cheapest Gmail CRM with pipelines?

As of October 2026, Teamopipe Starter at $19 per user per month (annual) is the lowest-priced of the main Gmail CRMs with pipelines. Copper Basic is $23 with a 2,500-contact cap, and NetHunt Basic and folk Standard are $24.

Can I keep Streak free for tracking and use another CRM for the pipeline?

Yes. Many people keep Streak's free email tracking and snippets and move their deal list to a sheet or another CRM. The pipeline only stays connected to your email threads if the other tool also works inside Gmail.

Is HubSpot free a good replacement for Streak free?

HubSpot's free CRM includes pipelines and costs nothing, but the pipeline lives in HubSpot's web app rather than inside Gmail. It suits people who want marketing tools later and do not mind working outside the inbox.
