How Gmail labels behave when deals move or are deleted
Explains Teamopipe-created Gmail labels, how they update when deals move, and what to do if a label remains after deletion.
Teamopipe uses Gmail labels to show CRM context in your inbox — you can see which stage a deal is in without opening the Teamopipe panel. When a deal moves stages, the label updates automatically.
What happens when you move a deal
When you move a deal from one stage to another, Teamopipe updates the linked email label automatically. A deal in Proposal shows a Proposal label; move it to Payment and the label changes. This is why clear stage names and colors matter — your Gmail inbox becomes a quick pipeline overview.
What happens when you delete a deal
Deleting a deal removes the deal from Teamopipe but does not delete the email from Gmail. In most cases the label clears. The known edge case: contact-level email tags can sometimes remain after deletion. Refresh Gmail and check — if the label persists, email support@teamopipe.com with the affected email address and deal name.
