Teamopipe field types explained

Teamopipe supports several field types. Choosing the right type makes data entry faster and keeps your pipeline easier to filter and export.

Text

Free-form text input. Best for: notes, descriptions, referral name, company name, contract number. Avoid using text for things that should be a dropdown (like lead source) — inconsistent entries make filtering and exports messy.

Number

Numeric values only. Best for: deal value, budget, team size, project hours. Do not include currency symbols in the value — just the number.

Date

Calendar date picker. Best for: expected close date, contract start, renewal date. Note: if you're west of GMT, enter one day ahead due to the known UTC offset bug.

Dropdown / single choice

Pick one option from a predefined list. Best for: lead source, industry, contract type, priority. Add your choices in Settings → Data fields before using the field.

Tags / multi-select

Pick one or more options. Best for: deal labels, service types, team roles, anything where multiple values can apply at once.
