How to create tags and dropdown options

Tags and dropdown fields need options before you can select anything. If a field says "No options found", the field exists but its choices haven't been created yet.

Add options to a dropdown or tag field

Settings → Data fields → find the field → Edit → add choices → Save. The options will now appear when selecting the field on a deal, contact, or organization.

Tags vs dropdowns

Use a dropdown when the user should pick one value (e.g. Lead source: Referral, Website, Cold outreach). Use tags when multiple values can apply (e.g. a deal can be both High priority and Renewal). Keep option names consistent — "LinkedIn" and "linkedin" and "LI" are three different values that make filtering messy.
