Create a custom field when Teamopipe's default fields aren't enough for your workflow. Good fields help you filter, prioritize, and understand your pipeline faster.
Create a custom field
Settings → Data fields → Add field → enter name → choose type → choose icon → decide whether to show on deal card → Save. Then review which pipelines should show it.
Choose a clear field name
Good: Deal value, Expected close date, Lead source, Industry, Package. Weak: Info, Type, Status 2, Other. If another person joined your workspace tomorrow, they should understand the field without asking you.
Choose the right field type
Text (free-form), Number (deal value, budget), Date (close date, renewal), Dropdown/choice (fixed options like lead source), Tags (multiple labels). Use dropdowns when answers should be consistent — if everyone types lead sources manually, exports become messy. For dropdown/tag fields, add the options before using the field on deals.
