How to edit deal fields
Deal fields are the structured information on a deal. Keeping them current is what makes filtering, sorting and reporting useful — most empty reports trace back to an empty field.
The fields every deal has
Alongside Deal name, Assignee, Description and Tags, every deal carries these system fields:
- Deal value — the amount, in the deal's own currency.
- Probability to win — leave it empty to follow the stage's Win %, or set it to override that one deal. How probability works.
- Expected close date — when you expect it to close. Drives the forecast; without it the deal can't be forecast at all.
- Status and Lost reason — Active, Won or Lost, plus why a deal was lost. Marking finished deals.
Edit from the deal detail panel
Open the pipeline → click the deal card → find the field in the detail panel → click the value → type or select → save or click away. Use this when you're working one deal and want the context of its comments, activity and linked emails.
Edit several deals from List view
Switch to the table icon at the top right, find the row, and click the cell. This is the fastest way to clear a backlog — for example filling in every missing deal value that Reports has flagged in its data quality bar.
If a field is missing
Fields are created workspace-wide, but a custom field's visibility is per pipeline. Go to Settings → Data fields, pick the Deals tab, and use the field's Visibility setting to choose which pipelines show it — see showing or hiding fields in a pipeline. If a dropdown shows “No options”, open the field in the same place and add choices.
