How contacts are created from email deals

Explains automatic contact creation when a user creates a deal from an email thread.

When you create a deal from an email, Teamopipe uses the sender information to create or connect a contact automatically — one of the reasons creating deals from Gmail is faster than manual data entry.

What gets captured

The most reliable piece of information is the email address. Depending on what Gmail provides, the contact may also show a name. Auto-created contacts sometimes look incomplete — open the contact and add first name, last name, phone, and organization as a quick cleanup step.

One contact, multiple deals

One person can be connected to several deals. A web designer with one client on three projects should have one contact linked to three separate deals — use thread-level linking so emails for Project A don't appear in Project B.

Avoid duplicate contacts

Before manually creating a contact, search by name or email in the Contacts section. Duplicates make it harder to see the full relationship history.
