How contacts work in Teamopipe
Explains contact records, what they contain, and how they connect to deals, tasks, campaigns, and organizations.
Contacts are the people behind your deals. A contact record gives you one place to see who the person is, which deals they are linked to, what follow-ups exist, and what history you have with them.
What a contact contains
Name, email, phone, organization, assignee, description, custom fields, linked deals, notes, tasks, campaign history, and activity history. Gmail shows the conversation; Teamopipe shows the relationship context.
Contact page vs deal page
A deal page is about one opportunity. A contact page is about one person. Jane from Acme with three projects should be one contact connected to three deals — each deal has its own stage and tasks, while the contact page shows the full relationship view.
Contact-level linking caution
If a deal uses contact-level linking, all emails from that contact's address can appear in the deal. Use contact-level linking when one person equals one deal. Use thread-level linking when the same person may be involved in multiple separate opportunities.
