How contacts work in Teamopipe

May 20, 2026

Contacts are the people behind your deals. Each contact has a dedicated page showing linked deals, email history, tasks, notes, and custom fields — the full picture of the relationship in one place. Available on both Free and Pro plans.

How contacts are created

Automatically from a deal: when you create a deal from an email, the sender's address is captured as a linked contact. In most cases your contact list builds itself as you work deals — the contact appears both in the deal's Linked Contacts section and in the global Contacts list.

Manually: click Contacts in the left sidebar → + New Contact, fill in the details (name, email, phone, organization, custom fields), and save. Use this for people who came in outside email — a referral, a conference contact, a prospect you found online. See "How to create and edit contacts manually" for the step-by-step.

The contact detail page

Click any contact to open their page. The Overview tab gathers the relationship data; the right rail holds the contact's details; the Activity tab shows the full interaction history.

  • Deals — every deal this contact is linked to, each with a link to the email thread
  • Notes — free-form notes about the person, separate from deal comments
  • Tasks — follow-ups assigned to or about this contact
  • Campaigns — campaigns this contact has been included in
  • Right rail — email, phone, name, linked organization, assignee, description, and custom fields

Editing contacts

Every field on the detail page is editable — click and type or select; changes save automatically. Tip: contacts auto-created from email may show their email address as their name. Fill in first and last name early so your Contacts list stays readable.

The Contacts list

The Contacts section shows every contact in your workspace as a searchable list — search by name or email, filter by assignee or organization, and export everything to CSV via the export option.

Deleting a contact

Open the contact's page → three-dot menu → Delete. This removes the contact but does not delete linked deals or email threads. If contact-level email tags persist in Gmail after deletion, reach out via chat or the contact form with the affected addresses and we'll clear them manually.

Custom fields for contacts

Track anything relevant — industry, job title, LinkedIn URL, preferred contact method. Go to Settings → Data fields, create a field, and set its scope to contacts; it then appears in the right rail of every contact page.

If you run into issues, use the chat in the bottom-right corner or the contact form at teamopipe.com/en/contact — we typically respond within 4 hours on business days.
