How to create and edit contacts manually
Shows how to add contacts that didn't start from an email and how to keep contact records clean.
Manual contacts are useful when you know a person should be in your CRM but there's no email thread or deal yet — referrals, event leads, partner introductions, future prospects.
Create a contact manually
Contacts → New Contact → enter name and email → add phone, organization, assignee, description, custom fields → Save. Always add an email address when possible — it's the most useful identifier for linking messages and importing data.
Edit a contact
Contacts → search by name or email → click the contact → click the field to update → edit → save. Fields include name, email, phone, organization, assignee, description, and custom fields.
Keep contact data readable
A list full of email addresses without names becomes hard to use. Add first and last names, link organizations, assign ownership in a team, and use consistent phone formatting. Use custom fields only for information you'll actually use later.
