Why all emails from one person are appearing in a deal

Explains why all emails from one person show up in a deal and how to change it.

If all emails from one person are appearing in a deal, the deal has contact-level linking enabled for that person's email address. This is by design — but it may not be what you intended.

What contact-level linking does

When you link a deal using contact-level mode, all past and future emails from that contact's address appear in the deal — not just the thread you used to create it. It's useful when one person = one deal. It creates noise when you have multiple deals with the same person.

How to fix it

Open the deal → Linked Contacts section → find the contact → switch from contact-level to thread-level linking. After switching, only the specific thread(s) you manually linked will appear. Unrelated emails from that person will stop showing in this deal.
