How tasks and follow-ups work in Teamopipe
Tasks are how you track what needs to happen next on a deal — follow-up calls, sending a proposal, checking in after a demo. Every task has a due date, a priority, and an assignee, and overdue tasks trigger notifications so nothing slips.
Three ways to create a task
- From inside a deal — open the deal card, click the Tasks tab, then + New Task. Tasks created this way are linked to the deal and appear both there and in the global Tasks section.
- From a Kanban card — hover over any deal card and click Add Task. Opens the task form without opening the full deal — handy during a pipeline review.
- From the Tasks section — click Tasks in the left sidebar, then + Create task. Optionally link it to a deal — or don't, for admin reminders and general follow-ups.
Task fields
Each task has a title (be specific — "Send revised proposal" beats "Follow up"), a due date (tasks with due dates trigger notifications), a type (call, email, meeting), a priority, and an assignee — defaults to you; change it to delegate.
The Tasks section — your daily follow-up list
Click Tasks in the left sidebar to see every task across all deals in one place. Search by title, filter by type, priority, or status (open, completed, overdue), select multiple tasks with checkboxes for bulk actions, and switch the layout with the View button. Starting your morning here — filtered to overdue and due-today — is the single best habit for keeping deals from going cold.
Completing and managing tasks
Mark a task complete with its checkbox — it leaves your active list but stays in the deal's activity log as a record, and can be reopened. Click a task to edit its due date, assignee, or title; delete via the task's action menu.
Task notifications
Teamopipe notifies you by email, in-app, or both when a task is assigned to you, its status changes, it's due soon (24 hours before the due date), or it's overdue (24 hours after). Configure this under Notifications in the left sidebar — global preferences plus per-notification fine-tuning. See "How task notifications work" for detail.
Bulk-creating tasks in List view
List view is the fastest way to add tasks to several deals at once — switch any pipeline to List view and use Add Task on each row. Much faster than opening deals one by one, especially after a call block when you have five follow-ups to log.
