How email linking works
How email-to-deal linking works — thread-level vs contact-level, how to switch, and how to unlink emails.
There are two types of email linking in Teamopipe, and you choose which applies when creating a deal.
Contact-level linking
All emails from a contact’s email address are automatically associated with the deal. Best when one person = one deal.
Thread-level linking
Only the specific email thread used when creating the deal is linked. Best when you email the same person about multiple separate topics or deals.
How to switch between them
When creating a deal from an email, a toggle lets you switch between “link to thread” and “link to contact.” Teamopipe remembers your last choice. You can also change the linking type after creation by opening the deal and editing the linked contact or thread settings.
How to unlink an email from a deal
Open the deal → Linked Contacts section (top-right) → use the unlink/remove option next to the contact or thread.
Why are emails tagged automatically in Gmail?
If you see a “T” label on emails, those emails are linked to a deal via contact-level linking. If emails from a deleted deal are still tagged, contact support@teamopipe.com — we can clear this manually.
