CSV import and export — full guide
CSV is how data moves in and out of Teamopipe. This article covers every import and export path — deals, contacts, and organizations — including how to prepare your files and handle common issues.
CSV is how data moves in and out of Teamopipe. You can import deals, contacts, and organizations from any CSV file, and export any of those to CSV at any time. This article covers both directions — every import and export path available.
Exporting data
Export pipeline deals
- Open any pipeline
- Click the three-dot menu (⋮) in the top right
- Select Export to CSV
The export includes all deals in that pipeline with all fields — system fields (name, stage, assignee, dates) and custom fields. Available on both Free and Pro plans. You can also export deal comments separately from the same menu.
Export contacts
Open the Contacts section in the left sidebar and look for the Export option. If the export button appears greyed out, the self-service export may not yet be available in your extension version — email support@teamopipe.com and we’ll prepare a manual export for you.
Export organizations
Same as contacts — open the Organizations section and use the export option. Contact support if the option is greyed out.
Importing data
Import deals into a pipeline
- Open the pipeline you want to import into
- Click the three-dot menu (⋮) in the top right
- Select Import CSV
- Upload your file and map the CSV columns to Teamopipe deal fields
- Confirm the import
Import contacts
Open the Contacts section and look for the Import option. Upload your CSV and map columns to contact fields (email, first name, last name, phone, organization, etc.). Email is the primary key — each row should have an email address.
Import organizations
Open the Organizations section and use the Import option. Organization imports require at minimum a name field. Website and custom fields can be included.
Getting the import templates
Teamopipe provides official CSV templates with the correct column headers for contacts, organizations, and deals. Using the template prevents column mapping errors. Email support@teamopipe.com to request a template, or download them directly from the API at api.teamopipe.com/api/v2/docs (look for the Import section).
Preparing your CSV for import
- Save as .csv (UTF-8), not .xlsx
- First row must be column headers
- Remove duplicate rows before importing — each row creates a new record
- No merged cells, no extra worksheets, no special formatting
- Dates should be in a consistent format (YYYY-MM-DD is safest)
Known import issues
If the import screen disappears after clicking Continue, this is a known bug on some Chrome versions. Refresh and try again. If it persists, email your CSV to support@teamopipe.com and we’ll run the import manually — typically done within one business day.
Migrating from another CRM
If you’re moving from Streak, HubSpot, Pipedrive, or another CRM, export your data from that tool as CSV and import into Teamopipe. For Streak migrations we handle the import for you at no cost — just share your export file with support@teamopipe.com. For large or complex datasets (many pipelines, many custom fields), contact us before importing and we’ll advise on the best approach.
If you run into issues, email support@teamopipe.com — we typically respond within 4 hours on business days.
